 The shorter the file name, the better. We recommend 6-8 characters + the file extension.
Please only use the following characters when naming a document: A-Z, a-z, 0-9, . The period should only be used when separating your file name from the file extension.
Please do not include any spaces when naming your document.
Even though the Macintosh allows names up to 31 characters, keeping file names less than 8 characters plus the file extension, allows the Mac to identify the file type and open the file in its own operating environment.
Renaming files once they are placed in a layout program is not acceptable unless you replace the file in the layout program so that links are not lost. |
